Dermal Filler Injections

What are Dermal Filler injections?

Dermal filler injections are a popular cosmetic treatment used to rejuvenate the face and enhance features. These fillers, made from hyaluronic acid, are injected beneath the skin to fill in wrinkles, add volume to areas like the cheeks and lips, and smooth out lines. The result is a more youthful, refreshed appearance with minimal downtime

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this treatment for?

Dermal filler treatments are suitable for a wide range of adults in the UK who are looking to address common signs of ageing or enhance their natural features. Whether you're seeking to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, restore lost volume in your cheeks or lips, or refine your facial contours, dermal fillers offer a versatile solution. We recommend a consultation to determine if fillers are the right choice for your individual needs and aesthetic goals.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Anyone over 18: Dermal Fillers are generally safe and suitable for most adults.
  • People with fine lines and wrinkles: By adding Dermal Fillers some fine lines can appear reduced.
  • Those looking to address volume loss: As we age volume is lost in the face, leading to the skin anatomy moving forward and down. Restoring volume can improve this appearance
  • Individuals seeking a natural look: Dermal fillers offer natural-looking results, making them suitable for individuals seeking subtle enhancements rather than dramatic changes.

Ideal candidates also require realistic expectations about the results that can be achieved with dermal fillers. They should understand that fillers are not a substitute for surgical procedures and are looking for a subtle to moderate improvement in their appearance.

Do I need a consultation?

Whilst it is not a legal requirement for this treatment to undergo a consultation, it is best practice to complete one prior to treatment.

Consultations allow me to assess the suitability for treatment and can help me determine that it is the right treatment to meet your needs.

There is also a small cohort of people that Dermal Filler injections are not suitable for and a consultation will allow me to ensure that the treatment is medically safe for you and that there are no contraindications or medication interactions.

Consultations for these treatments can take place either virtually or face-to-face in the comfort of your own home.

Can the treatment be the same day as consultation?

Whilst this is possible with pre-planning, it is not advisable and not best practice.

I don't keep stock of injectable treatments and as such consultations allow me to order the product to be used from the pharmacy.

However, the whole process should only take a few days and then treatment can take place.

What should I expect during the treatment?

As the treatment is completed in the comfort of your own home there will be some initial setup required by Nurse Lee. This will include setting up a seating area, ensuring the treatment area is clean and preparing of the treatment. You will also complete a consent to treatment document and photographs will be taken.

Once this is completed and you are comfortable, a medical cleanse of your skin will be completed to reduce the risk of infection. A pre-injection reassessment will be carried out of the areas to target and a recap of the planned treatment with yourself.

The treatment will start and using a very fine needle, small amounts of dermal filler will be injected into the areas that are to be targeted. The procedure can be uncomfortable for some people, particularly at the start of the procedure, however, many dermal fillers contain a local anaesthetic which helps to numb the area as the treatment proceeds. I may also apply some topical anaesthetic before the proceedure. You may also have some very small bumps and redness in the treated area immediately after the treatment is completed, you should expect these to resolve of the next few hours.

Once treatment is complete, you will be reminded of the aftercare advice.

I cover the following areas Halesowen, Dudley, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Worcester & Kidderminster.

When will I expect to see results?

While you'll see a change right away, it's important to remember that there may be some mild swelling immediately after your dermal filler treatment. Once this initial swelling resolves (usually within 24-48 hours), you'll be able to appreciate the true results. The full effect of the filler will typically be visible within 1-2 weeks.
