Medical Microneedling
What is Medical Microneedling?
Medical microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure where a medical practitioner uses thin needles to create tiny punctures in the skin's top layer, stimulating the skin’s natural healing processes and promoting firmness and smoothness. This process encourages the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential proteins that help maintain the skin's elasticity and firmness.

Do I need a consultation?
Whilst it is not a legal requirement for this treatment to undergo a consultation, it is best practice to complete one prior to treatment.
A consultation is an important first step to ensure the treatment is appropriate for your specific needs and skin type. During the consultation, I will assess your skin condition and medical history to determine if you are a suitable candidate for microneedling. I will also discuss your goals and expectations, explain the procedure in detail, and address any concerns you may have.
Consultations for these treatments can take place either virtually or face-to-face in the comfort of your own home.
Can the treatment be the same day as consultation?
Whilst this is possible with pre-planning, it is not generally advisable.
What should I expect during the treatment?
As the treatment is completed in the comfort of your own home there will be some initial setup required by Nurse Lee. This will include setting up a seating area, ensuring the treatment area is clean and preparing of the treatment. You will also complete a consent to treatment document and photographs will be taken.
Once this is completed and you are comfortable, a medical cleanse of your skin will be completed to reduce the risk of infection. A pre-treatment reassessment will be carried out of the areas to target and a recap of the planned treatment with yourself.
I will use a microneedling device (similar to a tattooing device) to create tiny punctures in the skin. The treatment can be uncomfortable at times but is generally tolerated well.
Once treatment is complete, you will be reminded of the aftercare advice.
After the procedure, it's common to experience some redness, tightness, and sensitivity in the treated area. The skin might feel like it has been burned. You may also feel some tenderness and tightness, which may last for a few days
I cover the following areas Halesowen, Dudley, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Worcester & Kidderminster.
When will I expect to see results?
You may observe initial improvements to your skin within a few days after the treatment, but the full results typically appear over the course of 4 to 6 weeks as collagen production increases.
Timeline for Results
Microneedling stimulates your skin’s natural repair process, so results appear gradually. Some clients notice a glow within a few days, but full results appear over 4-6 weeks as collagen production increases.
Factors Influencing Results
- Collagen Development: Expect optimal results after about 4-6 weeks. That’s roughly the amount of time that it takes for collagen to develop fully.
- Skin Cell Turnover: It also takes about a month for the skin cells to turn over entirely, from start to finish.
- Number of Sessions: For best results, most people need 3-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
Maintaining Results
Daily sunscreen, hydration, and periodic maintenance treatments every 3–6 months help maintain results.
