Prescription Clinic Overview

How a typical prescribing clinic works

Step 1: Book Your Appointment - Use my online booking system to book your prescribing clinic. Choose a date and time that suits you from my availability. A booking fee is payable at the time of booking of £25. This secures your appointment. Please see terms & conditions for more information.

Step 2: Pre-Consultation Preparation Before the appointment, you will receive a couple of emails (just in case you miss the first one) to provide me with your client's details that are attending the prescription clinic (Full name and DOB). This allows me to prepare for the consultation and ensures an efficient process on the day. You will receive an email with an electronic form to complete this.

Step 3: Face-to-Face Medical Assessment I attend your clinic at the agreed time and conduct a comprehensive medical assessment of your client. This includes:

  • Reviewing their medical history and current medications
  • Discussing any contraindications or precautions
  • Assessing their suitability for the proposed treatment
  • Answering any questions or concerns they or you may have

Step 4: Collaborative Treatment Planning This is where my service differs. I don't just assess and prescribe in isolation—I involve you, the administering practitioner, in the discussion. Together, we:

  • Review the treatment plan
  • Discuss the best approach for optimal outcomes
  • Address any clinical considerations
  • Ensure you have the clinical oversight and confidence you need to safely and effectivly deliver the treatment

Step 5: Prescription Completion Once the assessment is complete and we're both satisfied the treatment is safe and appropriate, you place your order with your nominated pharmacy and then I complete the prescription promptly. Prescriptions get sent electronically directly to your chosen pharmacy, ensuring there's no delay in obtaining your products and proceeding with treatment.

Step 6: Ongoing Support My service doesn't end with the prescription. I'm available for any follow-up questions or concerns, providing you with continued clinical support when you need it. *See terms & conditions for emergency call out fees.

What You Need:

  • Your client present for the assessment
  • Details of the proposed treatment
  • Your preferred pharmacy information
  • Access to a private consultation space at your clinic

Typical Turnaround: Prescriptions are completed on the day that they are requested with your pharmacy allowing you to proceed with treatments quickly and efficiently.

What Does The Consultation Fee Cover?

When your client attends a face-to-face prescribing consultation, they are paying for professional clinical assessment and expertise—not simply a prescription.

The Consultation Fee Includes:

  • Comprehensive Medical Assessment – A thorough review of medical history, current medications, allergies, and any existing health conditions
  • Clinical Evaluation – Professional assessment of whether the proposed treatment is safe and appropriate for the individual
  • Risk Assessment – Identification of any contraindications or precautions that may affect treatment suitability
  • Expert Clinical Advice – Guidance on the most appropriate treatment options and alternative approaches where relevant
  • Collaborative Treatment Planning – Discussion with you, the practitioner, to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Clinical Oversight – Professional responsibility and accountability for prescribing decisions

Important: A Prescription Is Not Guaranteed

It's essential that clients understand they are paying for a clinical consultation, not for a prescription itself. Following the assessment, there may be occasions where issuing a prescription is not clinically appropriate. This could be due to:

  • Medical contraindications
  • Medication interactions
  • Underlying health conditions that require management first
  • Treatments not being suitable for the individual's specific circumstances
  • Additional information or investigations being required

In these instances, the consultation fee still applies because you have received a professional medical assessment and clinical advice. This is in the client's best interest and ensures their safety remains the priority.

The Value of Professional Prescribing:

By paying for a proper clinical assessment, your clients receive:

  • Peace of mind that their safety has been thoroughly evaluated
  • Professional medical oversight
  • Protection from potentially harmful treatments
  • Confidence that any prescription issued is clinically appropriate and safe

This approach reflects responsible, ethical prescribing practice and protects both you as the practitioner and your clients.

Complications Management Service

I also offer a complications management service to aesthetic practitioners.

This service is for the management of a variety of complications that may be experienced as the result of aesthetics treatments ranging from infections, delayed onset nodules (DONs) right through to vascular comprimise.

The service is not bookable online as careful triage is required to establish the urgency of the situation. Please contact me if you need assistance for managing complications.
