Why Your Aesthetic Clinic Needs a Clinical Director — And Why Only Four Practices Can Join Ours
With regulation tightening across the aesthetics industry, having a named Clinical Director is no longer a nice-to-have. Here's what our partnership offers, why the commitment matters, and why spaces are strictly limited.
The Aesthetics Industry Is Changing — Is Your Clinic Ready?
If you run an aesthetic clinic in the UK, you'll already know that the regulatory landscape is shifting fast. The Nursing and Midwifery Council's stance on remote prescribing, increasing scrutiny from the Care Quality Commission, and growing public awareness around treatment safety have all combined to raise the bar for what a professionally run practice looks like in 2024 and beyond.
For many clinic owners — whether medics or non-medics — the challenge isn't passion or skill. It's infrastructure. Clinical governance, policy frameworks, complication protocols, and prescribing pathways are complex, time-consuming areas that require specialist expertise to get right. That's exactly where a Clinical Director comes in.
At Nurse Lee Cosmetics & Prescribing Service, I've spent over a decade working at the intersection of advanced aesthetics, prescribing, and clinical education. I've seen first-hand what separates a practice that thrives under scrutiny from one that struggles — and it almost always comes down to the clinical systems underpinning it.

What Is the Clinical Director Partnership?
The Clinical Director Partnership is a monthly subscription service that gives your aesthetic clinic a named, NMC-registered Clinical Director — providing the governance, safety oversight, policy infrastructure, and expert clinical support that underpins a compliant, confident, and professionally credible practice.
It is available at two tiers:
- Standard — £299/month. Clinical governance, safety oversight, policy development, complication management, access to our medical skincare clinic, and complimentary skincare consultations for your clients.
- Premium — £399/month. Everything in Standard, plus prescribing services (up to 10 prescriptions per month) and a 5% commission on skincare product profit — turning your clinical partnership into a genuine revenue stream.
Both plans are built around one core principle: that your clients deserve the same standard of clinical oversight regardless of the size of your clinic or where you are in your journey as a practitioner.
What Each Service Delivers in Practice
Clinical Governance
Governance isn't just paperwork — it's the framework that allows your clinic to make consistent, defensible clinical decisions. I'll work with you to establish governance structures that are appropriate to your service offering, your team, and the treatments you provide. This gives you, your clients, and any external auditors confidence that your practice operates to a professional standard.
Clinical Safety
From risk assessments to incident management procedures, clinical safety oversight ensures that when things don't go to plan — as they occasionally don't in any clinical environment — you have the protocols in place to respond appropriately. This isn't about being reactive; it's about building a culture of proactive, patient-centred safety into everything your clinic does.
Policy Development
Generic template policies downloaded from the internet aren't good enough anymore. Your clinic needs policies that reflect your specific treatments, your team's scope of practice, and the regulatory requirements that apply to you. I create bespoke, evidence-based clinical policies that are written for your practice — not a theoretical one.
Complication Management
One of the most anxiety-inducing aspects of aesthetic practice is knowing what to do when a complication arises. With the Clinical Director Partnership, you'll have clear, step-by-step protocols in place before anything goes wrong — and direct access to expert support if it does. This protects your clients, your practitioners, and your professional reputation.
Medical Skincare Clinic & Consultations
Both plans include access to our medical-grade skincare clinic and complimentary skincare consultations for your clients. Brands like Obagi Medical, ZO Skin Health & Medik8 sit at the heart of our skincare offering — giving your practice access to prescription-grade skincare solutions with real, measurable results.
Prescribing Services (Premium only)
For Premium partners, up to 10 prescriptions per month are included (an evening allocated for this) — completed promptly with your chosen pharmacy and following face-to-face medical assessment. This enables you to offer prescription-only treatments legally and safely, with the clinical oversight to back it up. Given the NMC's recent and long-overdue stance on remote prescribing, having face-to-face prescribing in place isn't just best practice — it's essential.
5% Commission on Skincare Profit (Premium only)
Premium partners benefit from a 5% commission on skincare product profit — meaning your clinical partnership actively contributes to your bottom line. As you build client relationships around medical-grade skincare, this becomes a compounding benefit over the 12-month term.
Why This Partnership Is Limited to Four Clinics

The nature of genuine clinical director work is intensive. Providing meaningful governance oversight, being available when complications arise, creating policies that are actually tailored to your practice, and being the kind of Clinical Director your clinic can genuinely rely on — none of that scales to dozens of clients.
To do this properly, I need to know your clinic. I need to understand your treatments, your team, your client demographic, and the specific challenges you face. That level of engagement isn't possible if I'm spread across ten or fifteen practices simultaneously.
By limiting the partnership to four clinics, I can guarantee:
- Responsive, direct support when you need it — not a ticket system or a waiting queue
- Policies and governance frameworks that genuinely reflect your practice, not a copy-and-paste template
- A Clinical Director who actually knows your clinic and can speak to it with authority
- The kind of professional relationship that makes a real difference to how your team operates day-to-day
If you're looking for the cheapest box-tick solution to satisfy a CQC/Council inspector, this partnership isn't that. If you want a genuine, working clinical infrastructure built by someone who cares about your clients as much as you do — this is exactly what I've built.

Why We Ask for a 12-Month Commitment
The Clinical Director Partnership requires a minimum 12-month commitment, and I want to be completely transparent about why — because I think it's actually one of the strongest signals of what this partnership is.
Building a clinical governance framework isn't something that happens overnight. Policies need to be written, reviewed, and refined. Governance structures take time to embed into day-to-day practice. Staff need to become familiar with the protocols. And the trust that underpins a genuine clinical director relationship — the kind where you pick up the phone at short notice because something has gone wrong — takes time to develop.
A 12-month commitment means:
- You get the full value of the partnership. The first couple of months are inevitably spent learning your clinic, building your policy suite, and setting up the governance frameworks. The real benefits compound over time.
- Your clients get consistent clinical oversight. Frequent changes of Clinical Director undermine the very thing governance is meant to provide — stability, consistency, and a clear chain of clinical accountability.
- I can plan my capacity properly. Because places are limited to four, I need to know I can commit to your clinic for a meaningful period. This protects you as much as it protects me.
This isn't a subscription you sign up to and forget about. It's a working professional relationship — and like all meaningful professional relationships, it needs time to deliver its full potential.
Is This Partnership Right for Your Clinic?
The Clinical Director Partnership is designed for aesthetic clinic owners and practitioners who take compliance and patient safety seriously — and who want to build a practice that can stand confidently behind its clinical standards.
It may be particularly well-suited to you if:
- You are a non-medic offering injectable treatments and need a prescriber and clinical governance infrastructure in place with upcoming regulation changes and the introduction of the Red, Amber and Green bandings for treatments being offered
- You are preparing for or anticipating CQC registration and want to ensure your governance documentation is robust
- You want to offer prescription-only treatments legally and safely (Premium plan)
- You are growing your clinic and need the clinical infrastructure to match your ambitions
- You value direct, expert support rather than impersonal corporate services
How to Apply for a Partnership Place
Given that only four places are available, I ask that all prospective partners get in touch directly before a space is offered. This isn't a sign-up form — it's a conversation. I want to understand your clinic, your ambitions, and whether the partnership is genuinely the right fit for both of us.
To enquire, simply get in touch via email or phone. I'll come back to you promptly, and if there's a space available and we're a good match, we can discuss the practicalities and get you started.
If there is no current availability, I'll let you know and add you to a waiting list. Given the limited capacity, I'd encourage anyone seriously considering this to reach out sooner rather than later.

I will continue to offer my prescribing clinics as I currently do and these will remain bookable via the usual method.
